Thrust 1: Sensing, Data mining and Modeling

This thrust aims to measure, analyze, model and forecast energy consumption and other factors in the indoor environment. We use indoor positioning systems to monitor and analyze human activities in tropical climates, and we design, develop, and deploy novel sensing technologies, data analytics paradigms, and actionable models for energy efficient buildings.

In realizing these goals, the research activities have been organized in the following six focused work packages (WPs):

  1. Inference and Data Mining
  2. Mobile Devices as Sensors and Actuators
  3. Sensor Network Centric Technologies
  4. Occupancy Modeling and Estimation
  5. Building Performance Modeling
  6. Novel Sensor Development
