The collaboration includes individual researchers at NTU as well the ERI@N institute. The Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) envisions itself to be a leading research institute for innovative energy solutions. Its focus is on the areas of sustainable energy, energy efficiency/ infrastructure and socio-economic aspects of energy research.

It is a key node in global knowledge networks, and has distinctive expertise and insights relating to Asia. Furthermore, NUS, along with NTU hosts the Singapore Centre on Environmental Life Sciences Engineering (SCELSE).
Researchers from Berkeley actively involved in all Thrusts of SinBerBest. Other partners including CREST, CBE and i4 energy are hosted or associated with UC Berkeley.
