Total dynamic model for control and optimization

This work package aims to model HVAC mechanical subsystems, indoor space and the outdoor environment. A typical HVAC system for multiple cooling zones can be modeled by a linear time-variant multi-input multi-output (MIMO) system. We found that when the input to each system component changes piecewise smoothly, the concerned MIMO system can be transformed into a single-input multi-output (SIMO) system so that it can be blindly identified even though the input observations are not available. The established identification results have been extended to Hammerstein or Wiener system models. We installed an RFID system for indoor localization experiments and have designed some indoor localization algorithms.
