Renewable energy cooling system for tropical buildings

The objective of this work package is to review and compare studies of different waste/renewable energy based cooling systems. Based on the principle of liquid desiccant dehumidification, three factors affect the outlet air humidity: desiccant concentration, flow rate, and temperature for a given supply air flow rate. For different desiccant temperatures, the lowest desiccant concentration that is capable of drying the air to 9g/(kg dry air) was found. We also investigated a liquid desiccant dehumidification system (LDDS) which takes advantage of water vapor pressure between desiccant and processes air to absorb the water content in the air.
